We have been very active in campaigning and working in the community to improve the quality of life for local residents. Here are some of our achievements.

Our Dont suffer in silence campaign was launched in 2009 in response to the growing problem of Anti social behaviour in Ormskirk. Cards and booklets were distributed to local households giving contact numbers for Police, Edge Hill University and West Lancashire Borough Council. The Campaign ensured that all incidents were logged and recorded by the authorities so that coordinated action could be taken to reduce the level of anti social behaviour.

NWTRA have been very active in trying to improve the appearance of the neighbourhood. There have been regular discussions with WLBC in order to reduce rubbish and litter.

In 2010 we successfully lobbied LCCto eradicate an infestation of Japanese Knotweed which had originated on council owned land and had spread onto residents gardens in Station Road.

NWTRA are vigorously supporting the campaign to stop the closure of the front desk at Ormskirk Police Station. We believe that this would be a backward step and undermine much of the work that residents associations like ourselves have achieved to date.
