Welcome to the New Way Tenants and Residents Association (NWTRA) website. Here you will find the latest news about our association. Take a moment to browse this site where you will see why we formed NWTRA, what we have achieved to date and what we hope to achieve in the future.
Members of New Way Tenants Residents Association have been actively supporting Dementia Awareness in the Community by not only knitting twiddle muffs but Committee members have been to a talk by Gail Godson a ‘dementia champion ‘ from Homestead . Our thanks to Gail for an enlightening talk and making us aware of Dementia in the community . Pictured below is Mary Wright ( Chair of NWTRA ) and the twiddle muffs.
NWTRA are deeply saddened to announce the sudden death of the Vice Chair of NWTRA , Anthony Daly . A truly inspirational man, who worked so hard for the residents group . A great loss not only to NWTRA but the whole of Ormskirk . Anthony or Tony as he was known locally worked so hard , on matters that were passionate to him and he gave his time for free . The residents association will remember him well for his commitment, not only with getting the pavements on Burscough Street that were uneven , re surfaced , but also asking for a CCTV camera to cover area , Japanese knotweed being treated, residents parking permits and by no means last his input into getting % ‘ s on streets in Ormskirk to prevent further student HMO’s and allow affordable housing . Tony had many other interests and wrote a book on ‘ Ormskirk. Clocks ‘ . It was an honour for us all to know this gentleman . A real loss to us and Ormskirk . Our sympathies are with his family at this time .
NWTRA would like to re assure residents that following the recent acceptance of a TEN ( Temporary Event Notice ) to the Styles Bar in Ormskirk during Freshers week, which means this establishment can serve alcohol till 3am and clientele do not have to leave until 3.30am during Freshers week , the police will now be extending their hours until 4am in the morning . NWTRA welcome this positive step to help residents get a nights sleep . The police have informed us that it is important for residents to log ASB noise nuisance by ringing ‘ 101’ or in an emergency 999.
